Re: One of the Z motor not moving when auto home after first touch

They move up syncronuosly but one motor doesn't move down after hitting the endstop? Do you run them by one driver? Parallel or serial? Do you feel excessive friction when turning the lead screws by...

Strange situation with stepper motor

Hello to everybody, I have a stepper driver shield (for Arduino UNO) and Arduino Mega2560 :D (And use GRBL for mega2560) I connected only one motor on z-axis for my tests and this is the result....

Re: Strange situation with stepper motor

It seems, the shift registers need some initialization code to configure MS1-MS3 of the drivers? Or are they pulled to GND automatically? Why not use a RAMPS shield with GRBL?

Re: Strange situation with stepper motor

... could be, your drivers draw more current from the +5V of the Arduino, than the voltage regulator can deliver -- so the +5V of the Arduino breaks down and the program stops. If it's working fine...

Re: TMC2208 installation?

With the TMC2208 you need to use the UART configuration with a USB-Serial adapter with your computer. Its really nice actually, it lets you change any setting about how the stepper diver functions and...

Z axis faster than xy axis

Hello everyone, i'm strugling in feedrates and aceleration, cause I cant insert more than 5mm/s in xy feedrate and 5mm/s2 in aceleration(more than this value and i get skiping steps), but in z axis i...

Re: Z axis faster than xy axis

Why do you drive the steppers in full step mode? Did you adjust the driver current? Can you move the XY-mechanics easily without binding?

Stepper driver problem

Hi, this is a question that is related to the use of the TMC2208 silentstepstick and similar stepper drivers. When I apply 24v to the VM/ground pins, the driver chip gets fried. This happens...

Re: Stepper driver problem

Maybe you plugged the driver in the wrong way round? Or, if you had to solder the header pin strips on yourself, maybe you soldered them on the wrong side of the board? Hint: on some types of driver,...

But even if I use microsteps, I'll not "gain" strenght as well in motors, so I Suposed that they should work in same condicions with no microsteping, right?when I use microsteping, the feed rate is...
