Burn out?
Hey guys, just wanted to get some ideas on a problem I'm having with my stepper motors. I've been finding lately that my motors that run my x and y axes are getting REALLY hot and I'm really worried...
View ArticleRe: Burn out?
I'd recommend turning down the pots on your Pololus as discussed here: [reprap.org]. Do some test runs after turning them down; if you go too far the motors will not be strong enough to make the moves...

Well, thing is I'm running Printrboard electronics (probably should have stated that :P ), not Polous. The heatsink thing is an idea though, prefer it to fans.
View ArticleRe: Burn out?
there will be trim pots next to drivers you 'll need too adjust them to suit the voltage and current to suit your motors
View ArticleRe: Short shaft stepper motors
why don't you aks your friend Mr saw? There is small circular saw for electronic driller (like this one: [i60.servimg.com]) it work pretty well. I did that for one of my motor.

Hi all, After a few minutes printing, my X Axis stepper motor starts to hammering, its not a mechanical problem. [www.youtube.com] - video of the problem Could someone assist me? Tks.

Hi All I have a Melzi Board on my Mendal and want to swap the extruder drive stepper motor for a linear actuator stepper motor to drive a syringe. I have found a bipolar motor which is rated at 2.33v...

Hello, I'm new to stepper motos and i have a piece of information. I want to know how i could find out the magnitude of linear movement from its catalogue? Thank you

Hello, What are the differences between linear actuators and stepper motors exactly? Thank you
View ArticleRe: Linear actuator and stepper motor
Linear Actuator in fact has no relation with stepper motor in the beginning. Stepper Motor is Rotary Actuator. But to travel in line is required in many applications, so belt and pulley are used. But...
View ArticleRe: Linear actuator and stepper motor
Thank you very much but now i have another question... which one do you personally think is better? linear actuator or stepper motor? to achieve the most accurate and smoothest linear motion?
View ArticleRe: Axis X - Stepper Motor Problem
Your X axis belt looks very loose? Is the belt slipping on the motor pulley?
View ArticleRe: Axis X - Stepper Motor Problem
Thanks for the response! No, its not slipping on the motor pulley, it is not a mechanical problem. I notice that the problem doesn't occurs if the extruder operates at maximum temperature of 185 C,...
