On the same topic - the voltage for the steppers is not mentioned in many of the pages of the Prusa i3 builds. The Ramps 1.4 circuit diagram shows 12V supply on the drivers, but many kits I have found on ebay use stepper with lower voltages (2.8V for example). So my question is what is the 'best' voltage for the steppers assuming the other parameters (torque, stepping angle) are similar.
On a similar topic I have 5 steppers rated at 12V but NEMA 23 which were dismantled from some old equipment, unfortunately I do not have the exact specs for torque but the stepping angle is 1.8°. I am considering using these, as I am on a tight budget, would it be possible to use them with a few changes to the build (attachment of motors because of larger size)?
