Re: Duet v0.8.5 - Problems with adjusting the motor current using M906

Ah okay makes sense. Can you also tell me how the drivers "know" with how much voltage they need to supply the motors? (only curious) thanks a lot! :-)

Re: Duet v0.8.5 - Problems with adjusting the motor current using M906

There are two 0.1 ohm current sense resistors connected to each driver. The motor current flows through them some of the time, and the driver chip monitors the voltage drop across them to work out the...

Re: Duet - Extruder not working

You do not need any M563 commands in your slicer start gcode, only in config.g. Use a T0 command in the slicer start gcode. One possible source of confusion is that the M0 command you use at the end...

Re: need help with Mk8 remote extruder steps & feedrate

Big and small gear refers to Gregs/Wade extruders. Set both numbers as 1, if you don't use a geared extruder. If you have a gear on the stepper shaft which is flat then use it's outer diameter. When...

Re: Motors

Any bipolar stepper with up to 2A phase current will do. Most common are 1.8° NEMA17 steppers with 0.4 - 1.7A.

Re: Motors

and would that be any voltage up to 12v

Re: Motors

no, voltage is misleading... you typically drive steppers with 2-4 times 'rated' voltage so you want 12/4 ie 4.8v max. (most say 3-5 V)
