Unfortunately thor motors are a very poor choice if you need high speeds. Yes you will need a much higher voltage to achieve the speeds you want. The problem is, it's not easy to find stepper motor drivers that can operate with such high voltages.

I suggest you cut your losses and buy more suitable motors, with much lower voltage requirement and correspondingly higher current. Choose the stepper motor drivers at the same time as the motors.
